The lady to the right of rev Roebuck looks like Kenny Clarke's mum, Behind her is I tink Maisie Eyre. To the left of Mrs Roebuck looks like Mrs Wall.

The chap second right from Ernest Sheldrake (top row far left) looks like Mr Lambert. He lived in Tickhill Street, and was prominent also in the St John..

John Oakley says...
Looking at the chavtown blog , it makes me wonder how things currently stand with people, and the vanishing culture that so many of our granparents were proud of . We recently popped in to see Reg Davies the vicar of Denaby for the last 40 years, and it was interesting to see a lively church. The once empty market stalls however were full on a Sunday, and far outnumbered the congregation at All Saints, but I hope some of the old spirit remains.

If you can get hold of his history of the women of Denaby, it is a worthwhile read, though do not worry too much about about the academic debates it also contains, as the actual history parts are easily readable.

Thanks John
